Buying a Christmas Ham for the Christmas Dinner is a tradition for millions of New Zealanders. Bee’s Knees produce moist, delicate, and slightly sweet tasting hams that will delight your family and guests.
Try one of these glaze combinations for a rich, festive flavour:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1 tsp dry mustard
1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
1 cup drained crushed pineapple
1 cup chunky marmalade
2 tbsp whisky or port
1 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup French mustard
Carefully remove the skin by running your fingers under it, peeling back to leave a smooth layer of fat. Cut a crisscross pattern, spread your chosen glaze, and place on a rack in a roasting pan. Secure cloves or cherries at each cross.
To glaze and serve cold: Bake at 180°C for 35–40 mins, brushing with glaze. Cool, cover, and refrigerate.
To cook and serve hot: Bake at 160°C, allowing 20 mins per kg, brushing with glaze.
